I am or I have – Sensitivity

Site Overview

Take a few seconds to think about each of these statements –

I am a sensitive person

I have a sensitive temperament

Do you feel any difference between the two ?

If you have a totally positive view of being sensitive with all it’s benefits then you are likely to find I am a sensitive person a very positive statement of who you are. That is wonderful. Please keep thinking of yourself in this way.

But if you have any questions as to –

whether your sensitivity is a blessing or a burden or

whether you are suffering from stress, anxiety or worry because of being sensitive………..

you may find I am a sensitive person less positive.

Instead it may be helpful how to say I have a sensitive temperament.

When you say I have a sensitive temperament it enables you to treat your temperament as part of you, rather than all of you, so you can be more objective when you look at this aspect of your character.

Viewing yourself this way can help you gain perspective, feel freer and be more flexible.

It may well be only a subtle difference but sometimes a small change can have a profound effect.

There is no right way with I am or I have regarding sensitivity.

It is about choosing and doing whatever works best for you.
