Change – Labelling

Cognitive Therapy Course - - - Site Overview

It is really important to separate what we do... from who we are. This is the key to stop labelling ourselves.

We are so much more than our moods, emotions and behaviours.

Moods and emotions come and go, mistakes can be corrected and behaviours can be changed. But our identity, 'who we are' is much more permanent.

Changing a behaviour or a mood is much easier than changing our identity.

Moods and emotions come and go, mistakes can be corrected and behaviours can be changed.

Changing 'I made a mistake' or 'I feel anxious ' is much, much easier than changing 'I am a failure' or 'I am an anxiety sufferer'.

You always have a choice what label you give to yourself.

If you say,

'I am…..' remember to label yourself something positive.
