Trust

Milo arrived early the next morning eager to find out out what he would be doing but was then surprised, when Soul started telling him again about his meeting with Truly. “When Truly taught me about truth, she also taught me about something else.

Truly postulated, “Soul, if you knew that my word was my bond and I promised you that I would always look out for you to see if there any dangers ahead from my excellent vantage point up above. But when I flew off, you couldn’t see me anywhere, even though all the time I could still see you, you would have to trust that I was watching out for you and always had your best interest at heart.

This is how trust works. Just because you can’t see the big picture doesn’t mean your best interests aren’t always being looked after. Trust is so important. If you can trust god, spirit, the universe is looking after your life, or just trust the best will happen, your life will dramatically change for the better. Truly gave me this image of trust to remember and it really has helped me. Milo, I want to give you something better than an image, I am going to give you an experience of trust, you will always remember!

It will take us a good part of the morning to reach a particular part of the river. It was a pleasant walk and he gave them the opportunity to get to know each other through some light and enjoyable conversation. When they reached their destination. Milo could see that this was an unusual stretch of river, slow moving water leading to faster rapids and then quickly changing back to slow moving water with gentle eddies.

Today Milo, I’m going to teach you about trust. You’re going to go through those rapids. “Soul, surely you’re not serious? You are joking aren’t you? I’m not a good swimmer.”
“Don’t worry about being a good swimmer and yes, I am extremely serious. You trust me don’t you Milo?” “Yes, I do.”

“Well that’s a start. Now, I need you you to trust yourself, trust the river, trust god, just trust. This is a lesson the universe wants you to learn to help improve your relationship with Daisy.”

“I can tell you Milo, that you will be safe. I will go with you. Just relax and keep your mouth closed so you don’t swallow water. If you go under the water, you will be brought back up to the surface again very quickly and the river will carry you through the rapids and into those gentle eddies.”

They both entered the water and swum to a spot under Soul’s direction. Without hesitation Soul cold out, “Off we go Milo! They worth carried through the rapids worth. Milo disappeared under the water a couple of times but then bobbed back up and finally, he was taken into the eddies.
“That was much better than I expected” Milo exclaimed.” “Are you still expecting bad things to happen Milo? Soul remarked jokingly. Milo realising what he had just said, added, ” No, I’m trusting now.”

“Good. If you feel like that, how about this time doing it on your own? Instantly Milo’s fear increased as his trust decreased. “Let me tell you, Milo it looks dangerous, but it really is safe. The worst that can happen is that you take on some water and it makes the experience unpleasant. Just as in the same way in life, if you have expectations that bad things will happen, instead of trusting everything will turn out for the best, then things are far more unpleasant. If you keep your mouth closed and you trust and relax you will find it to be a lovely experience and you will learn a wonderful lesson at the same time.”

Hearing these words Milo felt a real sense of confidence and trusted that he would be fine. He swam out to where they had started from last time and just let go and went with the flow. Everything was just as Soul had explained. He remained on the surface throughout. It proved to be an extremely enjoyable experience. When he relaxed in the eddy after passing through the rapids, he really understood for the first time just how much trust benefits your experience. His expectation had evaporated and only trust and happiness remained. When Soul joined him in the eddy, Milo hugged him and thanked him for giving him such a wonderful experience and straight away asked if he could do it again.

He spent the afternoon, repeatedly flowing through the rapids and into the eddy. When finally it was time to leave, Milo now looked at this previously scary place, with a real fondness. They made their way back to the stretch of river by Soul’s home and the conversation flowed even though they were walking up stream!

On returning to his burrow, Milo tired from his exploits, trusted that he would sleep well, and he fell into his deepest sleep for a very long time.
