What anxiety symptoms do you have?

Site Overview

Anxiety is made up of lots of different symptoms. Some are obvious, and some are not so obvious.

Let’s look at a simple way of categorising the anxiety symptoms and look at some of the symptoms which are easier to recognise.

We can group the symptoms into four categories:

physical……..emotional………thoughts……….fears

Some of the more obvious physical symptoms are: an increased heart rate, a churning stomach, sweaty hands or wanting to go to the loo.

Some of the more obvious emotional symptoms are:

a feeling that you can’t relax, feeling of being overwhelmed, irritability, being ‘on edge,’ frequently feeling angry, a lack of patience.

Some of the more obvious thoughts (symptoms) are:

worrying all the time, difficulty concentrating, incessant ‘mind chatter’, having your mind jump from one thing to the next.

Some of the more obvious fears (symptoms) are:

fears about everyday situations, fear of being trapped in enclosed spaces, fear of public speaking.

Although these anxiety symptoms are really unpleasant they are what we would expect as anxiety symptoms.

However there are other anxiety symptoms which are scary and bewildering and cause us even more anxiety because they are difficult to recognise. The best book to understand these symptoms
